Cosmoprof On the Road: Paris kicks off the new season!

Cosmoprof has been travelling the world with its promotional roadshows for four years, giving operators in the beauty sector a chance to come together and delve deeper. The roadshows offer an early look at Cosmoprof projects around the world and an opportunity to discuss the future of the beauty industry.

The first stage for 2019-2020 was the French capital, which – with the contribution of the Ministry for Economic Development and the Italian Trade Agency (ITA), and in collaboration with Cosmetica Italia – kickstarted the new programme, promoting the Cosmoprof network and helping participants dig deeper.

France is, after all, a strategic market for the cosmetics industry. The most recent data shared by Febea – Féderation des Enterprises de la Beauté – shows a 12% increase in exports for French cosmetics. Beauty is now the fourth economic sector in France, with a total revenue of 45 billion euro. France is home to 3,200 specialized companies that provide work for 246,000 professionals. It is the top exporter of cosmetic products in the world, followed by the United States and Germany. Leading segments are skincare and fragrances, the latter represented globally by Grasse. With these figures, it's clear that the French market serves as a reference for the global evolution of the cosmetics industry. When looking at consumption, the average budget for families in France has increased in the relevant sectors, with the most dynamic segments being beauty products and organic cosmetics. Registered sales for these products amounted to 480 million euro in 2017, a 10% increase compared to the previous year.

Pietro Vacanti Perco, First Counselor for the Italian Embassy in Paris, and Maurizio Motta, Deputy Director for ICE Paris, welcomed our guests, who were then given an – early – introduction to some of the innovations that will be presented at the next edition of Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna.

Innovation and future will be the keywords for Cosmoprof 2020. The new projects hosted by the event will offer an exclusive look at megatrends, technologies and treatments that are set to be fashionable for the next 10 years. Some of the partners for the coming edition were present in Paris. Together, we will create thematic training areas that will take our visitors straight to the heart of innovation in the beauty industry: a world that is increasingly focused on diversity and, therefore, personalization.

Our special thanks go to: Carlin Creative Bureau, Michael Nolte - Beautystreams Creative Director, Isabelle De Morand - Sparknews Chief Operating Officer, Lucas Dumon - centdegrés Creative Director, Dimitri Caudrelier - Quantis France Director, Mathieu Chevara - Director and Co-Founder of Nez Magazine.

A selection of products by international leaders in the beauty sector gave participants a taste of the excellence our exhibitors have to offer. Guests were able to test innovative formulations by Ancorotti Cosmetics, Davines, Eyra Cosmetics, Pinkfrogs, Rudy Profumi, Teaology and Wakeup Cosmetics Milano.

Curious about the innovations at Cosmoprof 2020 but missed the Paris event? Come back soon!
